Brandr’s First Blood

Glory sounds better before the fighting starts.

Brandr dreamed of raids, silver and glory. Nobody mentioned the fear.

On his first voyage aboard the Wave Serpent, he expects to prove himself worthy of the Jarl’s warband.

Instead, a crew of young Viking warriors walks straight into a deadly trap.

Cut off from their ship and surrounded by enemies, Brandr discovers that surviving battle takes more than a sharp spear.

Someone must lead. Someone must make the hard decisions.

And every decision has a price.

A brutal, darkly humorous Viking adventure.

Shield walls, sharp axes, bad decisions and bloody consequences.

For readers who love the action of Bernard Cornwell, the dry humour of Terry Pratchett and the battered heroes of David Gemmell.

Brandr’s First Blood is where the Salt Rider Saga begins.

Before the reputation. Before the legends. Just a young warrior discovering what glory really costs.
